I just received my new Puroma tripod mount. For a few years, I have been using the iStabilizer tripod mount with my older iPhones with great success. I recently got a new iPhone 7s and the iStabilizer wouldn’t open enough to fit the width of my new phone inside the Otterbox case.
I went searching for a new adapter that would open up enough to fit my new phone. I found the Puroma mount and it had great reviews, so I ordered one from Amazon.
The Puroma adapter can be adjusted so the phone is either horizontal or verticle. I always shoot my videos with the phone horizontal so I don’t have the black bars on each side of my video.
So far, I’m really liking the construction and the versatility of it. It seems to be made well and opens and closes in a fashion that supports many size phones. I read some reviews of the plastic breaking when dropped, etc. I think those issues have been corrected in the newer versions.
So I’m very happy so far with my choice. Below I took some pictures showing various phones mounted on the tripod.

The adapter can also swivel to a vertical shot.
The adapter can also open wide enough the hold the rather large Samsung Galaxy Note 2 inside an Otterbox case also.
The tripod mount is also versatile enough to close down on the Samsung Galaxy S3.
